Dr. Elia Busey

Chiropractor

Dr. Elia Busey, or Dr. Lia, as her patients know her, grew up in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and attended Louisiana State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. She always knew that she wanted to enter the healthcare field and ultimately decided to attend chiropractic school. She attended the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon from 2016 to 2020. During her time there, she worked with patients in the student clinic and had an opportunity to treat underprivileged individuals in downtown Portland. For her final term, she was placed at the American Lake VA near Tacoma, Washington and continued to perfect her chiropractic techniques and care. Though the weather change was hard at first, Dr. Lia learned to love the beauty of the PNW, especially since she feels like she’s in Twilight every day. She’s been practicing in Oregon since March 2021 and continues to appreciate all that the Portland metro has to offer.

Though too uncoordinated to play them, Dr. Lia has loved watching sports and wanted to pursue a career in sports medicine. While in chiropractic school, she also earned a Masters in Sports Medicine. She continues to love watching sports and yelling at her favorite teams. She is also furthering her sports medicine knowledge with additional certifications and continuing education courses.

When she’s not at WellCore, you can find her at Powell’s or one of the many independent movie theaters in Portland. In her free time, she likes reading, thrift-shopping, walking around her neighborhood, watching alligator videos, crying when her sports teams lose or win, and catching up with her co-workers.
